The Shed Bistro
I love this restaurant! Reliably good food (including delicious vegetarian options), friendly atmosphere and great staff, The owner Phil is the ultimate host, going out of his way to ensure all his patrons are comfortable, well fed and happy.

Beautiful countryside, historic village walks and unlimited access to gourmet food and wine: these are just a few of the charms awaiting visitors to the Globe Hotel in historic Rylstone.
Nestled in the celebrated Mudgee region, just 3 hours out of Greater Sydney, Rylstone is a rare colonial treasure. It is one of the oldest villages west of the Great Dividing Range , and the Globe Hotel, which has stood since 1855, is located right at its historic heart. With its close proximity to Mudgee’s celebrated wine region, Dunns Swamp and Wollemi National Park, it has become a hub for foodies, adventurers and those just looking for a country getaway.
Guests will stay in one of the hotel’s 14 well-appointed rooms. On cold days, you can curl up by a roaring fire with a glass of local wine and a good book. On warmer days, take a seat in our sunny beer garden and enjoy a fresh-cooked meal from the Shed Bistro.
From there the days and nights are yours: take a stroll around town to view its fine stone buildings and heritage walks; wander along the banks of the pretty Cudgegong River on those warm country nights; enjoy the great food and wine on offer on the famous Louee Street; and stop have a yarn with our lovely country locals.
Feeling a little more adventurous? Award-winning wineries are just a short drive away, as is the Wollemi National Park.

Escape to Rylstone: eat, drink, explore & leave as friends
The Globe started life as a humble cottage, which was opened as a bed and breakfast in 1855 by Mr Thomas Owen. The bustling colonial hotel was expanded around 1880’s to create a second story adding twelve rooms.
Great atmosphere, good food – all country pubs should be like this…I visited on a Friday night and I think everyone in Rylstone was there too. The place was packed full of people enjoying their night. Kudos to the kitchen for managing so many people all wanting food at the same time. Local wines available by the glass or bottle at very reasonable prices; interesting specials (pork belly; lamb shanks – classics!) and efficient service.
Special shout-out to new owner/operator Phil, who is making a unique contribution to the region and providing a quality destination for locals and visitors alike.
This was a recommendation from locals when we asked for a good place to have an early dinner which is also kids friendly.
We were happy that we took up this recommendation, food was nice and set at normal bistro prices. Kids enjoyed the choices from their kids menus. A good selection of wine also available, mostly from local vineyards.
If you are looking for a place to eat, your choices in Rylstone are limited however The Globe will be a good choice. Recommended
